ReTour – Building Resilient SMEs in the Tourism Industry is an international cooperation project funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme. The project brings together partners from Greece, Cyprus, Jordan, Turkey, Italy, and Lebanon to strengthen the resilience of small and medium‑sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in the tourism sector across the Mediterranean.
The tourism industry in the region faces increasing challenges due to global crises, economic pressures, and rapid technological change.
ReTour aims to help SMEs adapt, innovate, and thrive by:
Creating a digital innovation platform to connect tourism businesses with technology providers.
Organizing virtual challenges and hackathons to foster creative solutions for tourism resilience.
Developing a resilience framework that guides SMEs in adopting sustainable and crisis‑ready practices.
Preparing policy recommendations to support governments in building a more adaptive tourism ecosystem.
The project will directly engage 150+ tourism SMEs, provide training for 180 individuals (including youth, graduates, and employees with limited skills), and involve 60 local technology providers in co‑creating solutions across the six involved countries.
ReTour will run for 30 months. The project is coordinated by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), with Specto and Jordan University of Science and Technology as official Jordanian partners.
By combining innovation, collaboration, and policy support, ReTour seeks to build a more resilient, sustainable, and competitive tourism sector across the Mediterranean.

Call for External Financial Auditor – ReTour Project
Specto (PP4 – Jordan) invites qualified audit firms to submit proposals to provide expenditure verification services for the ReTour – Building Resilient SMEs in the Tourism Industry project.
ReTour is co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme and aims to strengthen the resilience and innovation capacity of tourism SMEs across the Mediterranean region.
- Conduct five expenditure verification audits (every 6 months)
- Prepare expenditure verification reports in line with Interreg NEXT MED financial rules
- Ensure compliance with EU financial regulations, procurement rules, and audit documentation standards
- Liaise with the project financial and coordination teams
- Licensed audit firm registered with the Jordanian Association of Certified Public Accountants
- Proven experience in auditing EU-funded projects
- Strong understanding of EU financial regulations and procurement compliance
- Ability to deliver reports in English
